Subvertisment

This series was created as a direct response to the gender inequality health care. Inspiration was drawn from the 1950’s magazine ads to reference the outdated ideals that justify these changes to women’s health care. I have played with puns in the tag lines to draw the viewer into the piece. The message on the ad states: GENDER INEQUALITY in health care is ever present. Women must pay higher insurance premiums than men. Being a woman is considered a preexisting condition. Fewer than ten state governments prohibit gender discrimination in insurance premiums.
